IISNet Networks began as a trial project in 2001. At the time, our founder had a personal site that he wished to put on the Internet.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, as we would never have been formed had everything worked out), the hosting company did not live up to expectations. Now a defunct operation, at the time it was a major hosting company. The servers were severely overloaded, and disc space that was supposed to be included could not be used because the hard drives were full. Downtime was a routine occurrance.

A switch was made to another web hosting company, another supposedly reputable big name hosting brand. Service was even worse, with support giving unhelpful responses. An external uptime monitor was used to check uptime, and for the month of February 2001, the uptime clocked in at 87.98%, which meant the site had experienced over 93 hours of downtime through the month - a completely unacceptable amount.

Having tried two hosting companies, he was completely fed up with the lack of service that he had received. Not only that, but the companies have failed to deliver on their promises. He set off to start a web hosting company with a different path, one that is based on exceptional customer and technical service.

We launched in late 2001, starting by selling our basic plans to the local public. We ordered a bunch of servers from a dedicated provider in Pennsylvania, and off we went. The launch was well received and we soon had a handful of clients. In mid 2002, we added our reseller hosting offerings, and in 2005, we started offering telephone services to business customers.

2006 was a great year for us as we acquired Instelink Telecommunications and expanded our customer base. We are confident that 2007 will be even better. No matter how big we get, our commitment to service will not waiver. That is our promise to you. That is the IISNet guarantee.
